I start out saying, Jeff picked me up.and we drove one hundred miles to the boarder. It was a dirt and gravel road. We had a great time ,we were like best friends. It was sad to see him leave. Good Luck and Best Wishes to you Brother. I I always remember you Brother.  I have  85 miles to hike before I see a store. Now that is a scary thought.I was so excited to see the beginning. 5 months of planning is coming true.Thank you LORD! Here I  go hiking the first 700 miles, through the desert.After two hours,I  was seeing dots,  speaking in tongues,and my a,, was going in convulsions. Now that's not FUNNY!  If you could only picture that ,you would know that's not funny .There was no shade to be found,the first water was 15 miles away. I was dropped off at 1 o clock ,had to hike into the dark,until 9:30 ,to find the water. My GPS is a amazing .lead me right to the water catch,in complete darkness.I needed water really really bad couldn't`t believe it. There was a bottle of coke and a big bottle of whiskey. Lets just say I howled at the moon ,and slept really well. I met another hiker on the third day,named Natty. He is a cross country skier. We hiked the last 50 miles together into Lords burg. WOW  85 miles in four days!!!! Daddy would be proud, if he only knew. We are taking a day off. Let my 7 blisters on my feet ,rest. Plus pick up a box from post office. Do my laundry. I will leave out around 4 in the morning. I love night hiking,that's how you do 27 miles a day in the desert, 15 miles before 9 am .I will be starting out in the morning heading to Silver City ,NM. 60 miles away. My goal is to attempt it in 2 days. Wish me luck !!!! Don't Forget I Love You All.
