My buddy decided he would take a day off in Lords Burg with me, come in together, had dinner and a good time. After I ordered the room for 2nd day. He tells me he has changed his mind and goes back on the trail without me. So I left my hotel room at 3:00 in the morning, determined to catch up with him. With my night time skills, NO FEAR and my GPS, I  can walk circles around my competition! I was going so fast that I past him, didn't even see him. I ran 15 miles, before 8 in the morning. Stop to take a break, Guess who walks up behind me with a BIG BLUE UMBRELLA? Natty. So we hiked together, the rest of the day. Couldn't wait to get to camp, get water and cook. I was so tired I was not paying attention to the maps. I was following Natty. I was so tired and dragging my head just trying to keep up. 27 miles I had hiked and ran today, so far. 1 more mile left to water and the mile never came. Then Natty turned off the trail, knowing that I am following him. I went passed him and continued on. Never found the water or him. So Thanks Buddy Natty for no dinner or water. After making camp I got my map and noticed the water was 3 tenth of a mile off the trail. I guess that is where Natty went to get the water, without leaving a sign for his Best Little Buddy!
So I woke up the next morning. I knew that Natty was behind, me so I waited in my tent. Resting and relaxing, then here comes Natty. He helped me get some of my things packed so we could hike together for another half a day. At the next water hole,I decided I  was not going to miss another dinner. So I told him I was going to do a 33 mile day, into Silver City.  I left him in the woods for another couple days. I made 60 miles in two days  to Silver City, New Mexico.  WOW!  Went ahead paid for 2 days stay at the Palace Motel. Next adventure Silver City, New Mexico to Pia Town, New Mexico. 35 to 40 miles. My Goal is to do it in one day. I will have to cross the Gila River 85 times in one day. STAY TUNED
